The Ohio Writers Association (AEO) continues its commitment to the dissemination of literature in Spanish through its monthly reading cycle at the Northern Lights Library, a space that has become a beacon for those who read, write and converse in our language.

The distance that separates us, by the Peruvian writer Renato Cisneros, is a novel where personal memory is intertwined with the recent history of Peru.
This story is not only a literary confession, but a bridge between generations, territories and silences.
A profound reading that invites you to think about the emotional legacy that is transmitted between parents and children, and how words can heal what the past leaves silent.
About the author:
Renato Cisneros (Lima, 1976) is one of the most recognized narrators in contemporary Latin American literature.
Author of novels such as You will leave the earth and Someday I will show you the desert, he is also a journalist, poet and chronicler.
His work has been translated into several languages and has had a strong critical resonance.
He will be one of the special guests at the Columbus International Book Fair (FILCO 2025) on September 13, 2025.
