Northern Lights Book Club

What do we do at the club?

We invite you to read a book that can be a novel, a story or poems.
Although reading takes place at home, the heart of our meetings are the literary gatherings.
In these sessions, members practice various techniques to read more efficiently and quickly.
Our gatherings are complemented with cultural activities such as meetings with authors who reside in the city of Columbus and/or surrounding areas.
We visit book fairs and attend book presentations among others.

Adult session November 2025

Children's program (6 to 14 years old)

Sessions for children are developed focusing on reading comprehension and artistic expression.
Bilingual reading:
We propose group reading of a short children’s story, preferably bilingual: Spanish-English.
Comprehension and expression:
Once the reading is finished, children are encouraged to express their ideas and their own interpretations about the story.
Creation of cardboard books:
Children are invited to express their interpretations in drawings, designing a cover, back cover and original interior pages.
We use the Cardboard Books technique using recycled items such as cardboard, cardboard, temperas and crayons.
At the end of the sessions, each child will be creating their own book!
