La Asociación de Escritores de Ohio is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting writers in Ohio at all stages of their professional careers.

As a non-profit organization, we strive to be recognized for our continuous support and promotion of a growing and vibrant literary community that is inclusive.

We aim to create a futuro where writers have access to the tools, resources, and networking necessary to reach their full creative potential and make significant contributions to the national literary landscape.

This will be achieved through specialized programs, events, and resources, providing an environment conducive to growth and connection among writers of various genres and experience levels.

Mission

To inspire, support, and connect Ohio writers at all stages of their careers, enabling them to develop their talent, share their work, and contribute to the literary community.

This mission is based on the following principles:

The Ohio Writers Association aspires to be a leading organization in the state, recognized for its continuous support and promotion of a vibrant and inclusive literary community. OWA envisions a future where Ohio writers have the tools, resources, and networking necessary to reach their full creative potential and make significant contributions to the literary landscape.

AEO Objectives

Promote

Reading in Spanish through reading clubs for children, youth, and adults, carrying out various literary activities where literary dissemination and discussion among participants are generated.

Boost

Periodic short story and poetry contests in Spanish, at the high school and university level located within the state of Ohio.

Manage

The establishment of workshops to train new prose writers and poets in Spanish.

Organize

Regular book fairs where Hispanic authors from the state of Ohio can be showcased, without prejudice to inviting other writers not residing in Ohio.

Recibir

Visits by prominent writers to the city of Columbus to help promote Spanish-language reading.

Coordinate

Collaborating with various Ohio libraries for the acquisition of Spanish-language books.
